Sarah Walker Gallery, Castletownbere, Co. Cork
September 2014
Mary held her first solo exhibition ‘Crow Head – An Investigation’ in the Sarah Walker Gallery, Castletownbere in September 2014. The subject matter included birds, cliffs and turf thulies presented on an array of media. She used watercolour, acrylic, oil paint and ink on paper from different sources. Her large aerial drawings of Crow Island brought a sense of place and context to the exhibition. A ruined turf thuile, found on Crow Head and other coastal regions like the Burren, was re-constructed for the exhibition.
